CWIC Service Only Available by Contacting Them Directly from Monday 11th November

From Monday November 11th patients wanting to use the CWIC service will need to contact them directly. The practice will no longer be able to pass patient details to the CWIC service from that date, as they are moving to a fully direct operation from then.

Patients with a new issue who are looking for a same-day appointment should contact the CWIC service on 0300 790 6292. Patients will speak to a CWIC clinician, and if their issue requires either a face-to-face or phone consultation they will be given an appointment at a specific time that day. The CWIC service phone line is open from 08:30 to 10:30 Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.

The CWIC service can provide appointments relating to a wide range of issues, but there are a number of conditions that they cannot help with. Full details of these exclusions, and how the new CWIC Direct service operates, are available on the CWIC service webpage.

The CWIC service is provided by East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership, a division of NHS Lothian. It provides a same-day appointment service to patients in the Tranent, Mussleburgh, Cockenzie and Port Seton areas. The CWIC service is based in Musselburgh Primary Care Centre, which is next door to Tesco’s in Musselburgh.
