Repeat Prescriptions

greepillsIf you are on regular medication, your doctor may arrange for you to get a prescription without you actually seeing him or her every time you need it. We have a computerised repeat prescription system. Please order your regular medication in good time before you need to take it, preferably avoiding our busy Mondays!

To request your repeat prescription, you can:

  • Post your request in the box near the reception desk (slips are provided)
  • Telephone (01875) 610425 between 10.30 a.m. and 4.00p.m.

Your prescription can be taken to the local chemist of your choice, or you can collect it from the surgery.

Please allow

  • 24 hours to collect a regular repeat prescription from the surgery
  • 48 hours or to collect a regular repeat prescription from one of the Tranent pharmacies.

From time to time you may receive with your prescription a request to see your doctor or nurse. This is because most medications require regular review to ensure their greatest benefit.

Please note: ‘Special Requests’
These are the prescriptions your GP may have given you but which are not recorded on computer for regular repeat – usually because the GP wishes to keep an eye on how they are suiting you. In order that they can keep the situation under review, these requests go directly to the GP who sees you most often or who started you on that particular treatment.

As some GPs are not in the practice full time, these requests may take slightly longer to process, so please leave time for this when ordering.
