District Nurses

The District Nursing Service is responsible for the assessment, planning and provision of the most appropriate and highest standards of Nursing Care within the patients own home, often in partnership with other Health and Social Care professionals. They also provide advice, equipment, support, education and health promotion to enable a patient to live independently and safely at home.

They work 8.00am-4.30pm, 7 days a week and can be contacted via reception on 01875 610636. You may be transferred to an answering machine which is available to leave messages during the day. If your call is after 4.30pm and before 6.00pm Mon-Fri , reception can pass your message to the nurse on call. After 6pm on Mon-Fri and at weekends please call NHS 24 on 08454 242424.


Health Visitors

Health Visitors can provide information, advice and support on most health and community related issues with special emphasis on health education, health promotion and preventative care. They are particularly involved with family issues and the care of pre-school children.

They work from the Health Centre on Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm and can be contacted on their direct number (01875) 618952 – or through Reception, on telephone number (01875) 610636. They are usually available to take calls between 8.30 am and 10.00 am on weekdays. An answering machine is available to leave messages at other times.


Podiatry

The Podiatry service can be accessed by any patient who feels they have a problem with their feet. Self-referral forms are available at reception. Requests for an appointment can be posted in the box in the Community waiting room at the Health Centre. They also have their own direct phone number – (01875) 618953 – where a message may be left on their answering machine.
